San Antonio’s MLK Jr march is the largest in the nation
During a time in America where borders and differences seem to be everyone’s current event topic of discussion, the City of San Antonio orients itself to take a different direction. Every January for the past 12 years, DreamWeek SA pushes to bridge gaps between diverse communities and new additions to the beautiful demographics of San Antonio.
Over the course of 16 days, local organizations, city officials, and community members hosted a variety of events, seminars, and speaker panels across the city that covered a diverse range of topics. At one event, community members questioned and conferred with local law enforcement on further cooperation to increase the safety of citizens; at the same time across the city, children and adults learned the fundamentals of computer coding.
With over 250 events this year, DreamWeek SA 2025 was an impressive endeavor. With this year’s slogan of “We Are Neighbor”, togetherness, cooperation and how to be better moving forward were at the center of many conversations being had. Wrapped around the largest MLK march in the nation, Dreamweek stands firmly on expanding the foundations and principles of the late Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. when it comes to providing a future that sees more conversation and less confrontation; more diplomacy and less deploration.
