Art in the Garden

Art in The Garden is San Antonio’s premiere art auction benefiting San Antonio East YoungLife. The artsy evening was held in the beautiful San Antonio Botanical Garden’s Lucile Halsell Conservatory, and featured local and national artists, live music by Nina & The Gypsies, Tim The Girl Catering, and cocktails. Andrea Wollenzin, Executive Director of Art in The Garden, began this event in 2019 with a vision of marrying her worlds of art, business, and young life.
YoungLife’s mission is to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith by going where students are - the lunchroom, basketball games, the YMCA, etc.; in doing so, leaders build relationships with teens in the community and earn the right to be heard and tell them about Jesus.
Located on the St. Philip’s High School and college campus, their ministry is strategically placed in the heart of the East Side of San Antonio. In addition to the St. Philip’s community, they also serve students at Healy-Murphy High School. SAYL East provides meals, a safe environment, transportation, and clothes. It connects students with resources to meet additional needs as they arise so that kids have every opportunity to thrive and know the love, safety, and presence of God.
