Texas Paralegal Day

The State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division-District 5 and the San Antonio Paralegal Association hosted the annual Texas Paralegal Day Celebration at Norris Conference Center on October 23rd, the date the Texas Senate issued Proclamation No. 1144, declaring this day indefinitely on January 22, 2009. The 21st Annual Paralegal Day Celebration featured speakers from the Lovorn Law Firm: Attorneys Shawn Lovorn and Casey Lee; and paralegals, Heidi Helstrom and Graciela Mitchell. Paralegal of the Year was awarded to Pearl Garza, and scholarship recipients Monica Harris and Gricelda Gonzalez were recognized.
The annual event is a collaboration of the two paralegal associations representing the San Antonio area, from the Hill Country to Corpus. Continuously volunteering through the community for Stuff the Bus, the Food Bank, and Adopt a Family, both organizations offer support to paralegals, legal assistants, legal secretaries, and students.
