Remembering Vivian

By Leslie Foley

It is with heavy hearts and times of sadness that we share our loss: our photographer and staff member, Vivian Crook, passed away April 4, 2024. Vivian worked for Scene In SA for over 20 years shooting photos for various fundraisers, staff parties, as well as taking candid photos and portraits. In addition to working for the magazine, she volunteered and took photos for the San Antonio Rodeo, weddings, birthday celebrations, and numerous events, including art gallery openings, holiday parties, VFW events, and Fiesta.

Vivian was an outgoing personality who never met a stranger and thoroughly enjoyed her craft. She loved to travel and shared with the staff numerous beautiful pictures, which often included family whom she loved dearly.  She also enjoyed her car and belonged to a car club and attended their events. Vivian also had colorful, fun clothes that she would wear to Fiesta and Rodeo events and often with matching accessories.

Vivian took great pride in her work; she was never without her camera and was always ready to capture that special moment.  We will miss her contagious smile, funny laugh and her upbeat personality.

“Vivian was my sidekick for covering events and attending functions. We had a great working relationship. It’s sad that she has passed and I won’t be able to work or visit with her again,” said Leslie Foley. ■
