Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas hosted its 3rd Annual Wishes Under the Stars Gala on the grounds of the beautiful Botanical Gardens. Emcees Mandy Noell, News 4, and wish alum Jacqueline, whose wish to attend a Colorado Avalanche game was granted in January 2024, emceed the gala.
Directed by Carolyn Gresham and Anthony Martinez under the leadership of NESA Director Marisol Askey, this festive extravaganza is more than just a show—it’s a celebration of artistry, creativity, and the incredible talent nurtured within NESA
Members were discussing the milestone celebration and their groovy attire for the upcoming event, which raises funds to both further interest in the fine arts by providing recognition to students within the local area, and promote friendships within the membership.
The Women in Medicine and Law Pink Party was just that! Mistress of Ceremonies Jean Holt, MD, inspired the crowd of brave cancer survivors from all walks of life. Presenting sponsor University Health ensured funds were raised to support ThriveWell Cancer Foundation’s Diva Program.

The theme for 2024’s Inkstravaganza was “Razzmatazz and all that Jazz” to honor the 2020-2023 poet Laureate, Andrea Vocab Sanderson. The passionate and dedicated team at Gemini Ink curated a beautiful, classy evening at the McNay Art Museum; a direct reflection of the passion they put into the work they do in the city of San Antonio.
