Wishes Under the Stars

Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas hosted its 3rd Annual Wishes Under the Stars Gala on the grounds of the beautiful Botanical Gardens. Emcees Mandy Noell, News 4, and wish alum Jacqueline, whose wish to attend a Colorado Avalanche game was granted in January 2024, emceed the gala. Jacqueline showed remarkable strength and courage as she discussed her diagnosis and journey battling cancer. Wish kid Valentin shared his inspirational story of strength and resilience while facing leukemia (now in remission), along with his mom, Veronica, who herself is a breast cancer survivor.

Gala chairs Jeri and Monroe May, along with sponsors, committee, donors, volunteers, staff, and supporters ensured a huge success raising proceeds to create 24 life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses in 40 counties across central and south Texas.
